AC Shadows Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the official release, "An unusual confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of banned practices and terrifying changes echo through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an special katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's third free story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
